Özet
Doğayı gözlemleyen ve hayatta kalma çalışan insan hep arayışta olmuştur. Doğanın döngüsüne, yaşamın kendisine, var oluşuna nedenler aramıştır. Sözlü iletişimin olmadığı başlangıç dönemlerinde bile avladığı hayvanların postunu giyen insan, kendini bedeni ile ifade etmiştir. Tiyatronun da doğuşuna neden olan keşfetme ve aktarma, çağlar boyunca iletişimi sağlamıştır. Pantomim günümüzde bir sanat olarak bu mirasın taşıyıcısı olmakla birlikte tiyatronun uzuvlarından ve fiziksel tiyatronun temellerinden de biridir. Antik Yunan'da koro ile başlayan macerası günümüzde solo performanslar olarak devam etmektedir. Jean-Gaspard Deburau, Jacques Copeau, Etienne Decroux, Marcel Marceau gibi pantomim sanatçıları ifade biçimi olan bedeni çözümlemiş ve kendilerine özgü tekniklerle pantomim sanatını yeniden tanımlamışlardır. Beden ve sessizlikle oluşan bu anlatım sanatı, izlediği yol ve değişimlerle Türkiye'de de karşılığını bulmuştur. Erdinç Dinçer, Oğuz Aral, Taner Barlas ve Vecihi Ofluoğlu gibi isimler bunlar arasındadır. Bu tez kapsamında Türkiye'de tiyatronun gerisinde kaldığı izlenen pantomim sanatının tarihsel süreci literatür ve doküman taramasıyla ele alınmış, pantomim sanatının öncü isimlerinin çalışmaları konu edilmiştir. Bu kapsamda pantomimin değerlerinden Vecihi Ofluoğlu ile bire bir görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tamamlayıcı bir pratik olarak da 'Bavul' adlı pantomim oyunu, teknikleri açısından fotoğraflı belgeleme yoluyla incelenmiş ve analiz edilmiştir.

Humans who observe nature and strive to survive have always been in search of something. They have sought reasons for the cycle of nature, for life itself, for existence. Even in the early days when there was no verbal communication, humans expressed themselves through their bodies by wearing the skins of the animals they hunted. The discovery and transmission that led to the birth of theater have ensured communication throughout the ages. Pantomime is both a carrier of this heritage as an art form today and one of the limbs of theater and the foundations of physical theater. Its journey, which began with the chorus in ancient Greece, continues today in the form of solo performances. Pantomime artists such as Jean-Gaspard Deburau, Jacques Copeau, Etienne Decroux, and Marcel Marceau analyzed the body as a form of expression and redefined the art of pantomime with their own unique techniques. This art of expression, formed by the body and silence, has also found its place in Turkey with its path and changes. Erdinç Dinçer, Oğuz Aral, Taner Barlas, and Vecihi Ofluoğlu are among these names. Within the scope of this thesis, the historical process of pantomime art, which has lagged behind theater in Turkey, has been examined through literature and document searches, and the works of the pioneers of pantomime art have been discussed. Within this scope, a one-on-one interview was conducted with Vecihi Ofluoğlu, one of the leading figures in pantomime. As a complementary practice, the pantomime play titled“Bavul”was examined and analyzed through photographic documentation in terms of its techniques.
