Özet
Bu çalısmanın amacı genel paragraf, okuma parçası, zevk için okunan magazin ve gazete gibi otantik okuma parçaları ile bunun Mus Anadolu Ögretmen Lisesi'nde 11 Dil sınıfındaki ögrencilerin yazma yetenekleri üzerindeki etkisini arastırmaktır. Ayrıca bu çalısma, ögrencilere müfredat dısında okuma ve yazmasına müsaade etmek ve üniversiteye hazırlanan bir dil sınıfı olarak yazma yetilerini degerlendirmektir. Böyle bir arastırmaya gereksinim, arastırmacının ögrencilere belirli bir konuda yazma görevi verdiginde yeterli bilgilerinin olmadıgını düsündüklerinden yazma konusunda basarılı olamayacakları korkusu ve isteksizliginden ileri gelmistir. Bu yüzden, bu çalısmada vurgulanan noktalar okuma, okuma çesitleri ve yaygın okuma olacaktır. Sonra ise okuma ve yazma arasındaki iliskiler üzerinde durularak yapılmıs olan sınavlar, fikirler ve arastırmalar üzerinde durulmaktadır. )lk bölümde arastırma hakkında genel bir bilgi, arastırmanın amacı, arastırma sırasında meydana gelen sorunlar ve sınırlılıklar belirtilmektedir. )kinci bölümde ise, okuma ve tanımları, okuma çesitleri, okuma hakkında teorilerö yogun ve yaygın okuma, yaygın ( serbest) okumanın yazma üzerindeki faydaları, okuma ve yazma arasındaki baglantı ve iliskiler alt baslıklarıyla bahsedilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde, okuma ve yazma arasındaki iliski hakkındaki analizler sunulmaktadır. Diger bölümde, hem deney hem de kontrol grubuna verilen testlerden ve anketten saglanan bilgiler analiz edilmektedir.. Sonuç olarak, son bölümde, çalısmanın genel bir sonucu verilmistir.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between reading of general texts, passages, authentic texts (such as magazines and newspapers) and their effects on the writing skills of 11th grade language classroom in Mus Anatolian Teacher?s High School. This study aims also to allow students to read and write across the curriculum and evaluate them in both terms as a language class, preparing for the university exam. The need for such a study arises from the researcher?s observation while offering students to write an essay or article on a particular subject and their unwillingness to carry out such an assignment due to the fact that they feel they are not talented enough to write and they believe they do not have satisfactory knowledge to write a composition. Thus, in this study, the first emphasize is on the reading skills and aspects of reading including the types of reading and particularly extensive reading. Afterwards, the relationships between reading and writing skills will be studied on supporting the thesis with researchers? tests, their ideas and searches on it. In the first chapter, the general background of the study, the purpose of the study, the statement of the problem, method of the study and limitations are presented. In the second chapter, reading and its definitions, theories for reading, types of reading, extensive reading, advantages of extensive reading, reading and writing relationships and connection with its subtitles are mentioned. The third chapter aims to present the analysis on the effects of reading and specifically authentic reading upon the development of writing skills. In next chapter, data obtained from the questionnaire and the tests (pre-test and posttest) given to both experimental and control groups are analyzed. Finally, in the last chapter, an overall conclusion of the study is given.
