Özet
The purpose of this work is to use and investigate the efficiency of imine-Graphene hybrid material as an adsorbent material for removal of Fe(III) and Cr(III) metal ions, in which the accumulation of these heavy metals in the human body and eco-system causes the contamination of them which results in toxicity and sickness of living organisms. In the first step Graphene oxide was synthesized through Hummers method by oxidizing Graphite with strong oxidizers, then prepared Graphene oxide was silanized by 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propylamine and then Graphene oxide-Schiff base material was synthesized by the reaction of silanized-graphene oxide with 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde. In the second step, chemical structure of these three materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction, UV-Vis spectroscopy, Thermogravimetrical analysis, Transmission electron microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Finally, adsorption and desorption studies of the imine-graphene hybrid material toward Fe(III) annd Cr(III) metal ions were investigated using the Batch system. The effect of pH, contact time, temperature, concentration on adsorption properties of the materials were examined by ICP-AES. The result showed that imine-graphene hybrid material were effective material for the adsorption of heavy metal ions from waste and drinking waters.
