Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, bibliyoterapi yönteminin üstün zekâlı ve yetenekli çocukların empati düzeyine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında özel bir okulun Üstün Potansiyelliler Eğitim Programında eğitim gören 2. sınıf düzeyinde, 8 yaşında 9'u erkek, 8'i kız, toplam 17 üstün zekâlı ve yetenekli öğrenciyle yürütülmüştür. Bu çalışmada; Wechsler Çocuklar İçin Zekâ Ölçeği(WISC-R), Reid, Davis, Horlin, Anderson, Baughman & Campbell (2012) tarafından geliştirilen Çocuklarda Empati Gelişimi Ölçeği(ÇEGÖ), Bryant (1982) tarafından geliştirilen ve Gürtunca (2013) tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan Çocuklar ve Ergenler İçin Empati Ölçeği(ÇEEÖ) veri toplama araçları olarak kullanılmıştır. Gerçek deneysel desenler içerisinden öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu seçkisiz desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkenini öğrencilerin empati düzeyleri oluştururken, bağımsız değişkenini bibliyoterapi temelli eğitim programı oluşturmaktadır. Üstün zekâlı 17 öğrenciye çalışma öncesinde ÇEGÖ ve ÇEEÖ uygulanmıştır. Seçkisiz olarak öğrencilerin 9'u deney, 8'i kontrol grubuna atanmıştır. Oluşturulan gruplar arasında öntest bakımından fark olup olmadığı Mann Whitney U testi ile kontrol edilmiştir. Araştırmacının geliştirdiği, 40 dakikalık 8 oturumdan oluşan bibliyoterapi programı, okulun tahsis ettiği sınıfta uygulanmıştır. Programın sonunda ÇEGÖ ve ÇEEÖ tekrar uygulanmıştır. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of bibliotherapy method on the empathy levels of the gifted and talented children. This study has been conducted with totally 17 (of whom 8 of them are girls and 9 of them are boys) 2nd grade gifted and talented students who attend their education at a private school's Superior Potentials Program in 2018-2019 academic year. Within the scope of this study; Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), The Kids' Empathic Development Scale (ÇEGÖ) which was developed by Reid, Davis, Horlin, Anderson, Baughman & Campbell (2012) and An Index of Empathy for Children and Adolescents which was developed by Bryant (1982) and adapted to Turkish by Gürtunca (2013) were used as data collection tools. In this study, random designs among real experimental designs with pretest-posttest control group were used. While the dependent variable consists of the empathy levels of the students, the independent variable is the education program based on bibliotherapy. Before the study, ÇEGÖ and ÇEEÖ were applied to 17 students who were diagnosed with intellectual giftedness. 9 of the students were assigned to experimental group and 8 of them were assigned to control group randomly. Mann Whitney U Test was used to control whether there is difference between the groups with regards to pretest. The education program based on bibliotherapy which was developed by the researcher and consists of 40 minutes' 8 sessions was applied at the classroom allocated by the school.
