Özet

ÖZET Çalışma, yöntem farklılığının öğrenci erişisi üzerinde ki etkisini saptamayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada“göste rip yaptırma”ve“örnek olay”yöntemlerinden oluşan seç meli yöntem ile“anlatma yöntemi”kullanılmıştır, örnek- lemi ODTÜ III. sınıf Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü öğrenci leri (n=66) oluşturmaktadır, öğrenciler, işlem grupları na rasgele (randomly) atanmışlardır. Veri toplamak için iki araç kullanılmıştır.“Türk Dili Erişi Testi”ve“Türk Dili Dersine Karşı Tutum ölçeği”. Denenceler,“t-test”ve“Pearson Product Moment Correlation”la testedilmiştir. So nuçlar, seçmeli yöntem kullanılan deney grubunun erişi sinin genel erişide anlatma yöntemi kullanılan gruptan anlamlı derecede farklı olduğunu, düzeyler açısından ba kıldığında ise deney grubu erişisinin I. ünitenin bilgi, II. ünitenin kavrama ve uygulama düzeylerinde kontrol grubundan daha anlamlı olduğunu göstermiştir. Ancak her iki grubun erişileri ile Türk Dili dersine karşı tutum ları arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmamıştır. Daha geniş örneklemlerle çeşitli yöntemler kullanılarak benzer ça lışmalar yapılması öğretim hizmetinin niteliğinin artırıl masında yararlı olabilecektir. iii

SUMMARY This study was designed to determine the effects of differential methods on student's Turkish Language achievement. The methods were lecture method and eclectic method which includes demonstration performance and case method. The subjects (n=66) for this study were third grade students in METU Turkey. The students were randomly assigned into two treatment groups. Two measures were used to collect the data: the“Turkish Language Achievement Instrument for the third Grade”and“An Attitude Scale toward Turkish Language Course”. Hypotheses were tested using the t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation:.. The results revealed that in general eclectic method group exhibited significantly greater Turkish Language achievement than the lecture group on achievement tests. From the direction of cognitive levels, results revealed that eclectic group exhibited significantly greater Turkish Language achieve ment on I. unit 's knowledge level and II. unit ' s compre hension and application levels than the lecture group on achievement tests. The results also indicated there were no relationships between the Turkish Language achievement and attitudes toward Turkish language Course for two group. It was recommended that the study be repeated using a larger sample and more sensitive experimental design in order to measure more precisely the effect of various independent variables upon achievement. iv
