Özet
Yapılan çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf müfredatında bulunan biyoteknoloji konusuyla ilgili kavramların öğrenciler tarafından anlaşılabilirliğini incelemektir. Betimsel analizin kullanıldığı bu çalışmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ankara ilinin ilçelerinden Mamak ve Çankaya'da bulunan iki ortaokulda öğrenim gören 100 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan biyoteknoloji bilgi anketi aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Kullanılan veri toplama aracının geçerlik-güvenirlik analizinden sonra güvenirliğinin yeterli seviyede olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen verileri analiz etmek için Ki-Kare testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemi her iki okulda gelişigüzel örneklem yönteminden basit rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile oluşturulmuştur. Biyoteknoloji konusu her iki okulda da öğretim programında konu için önerilen yöntem ve tekniklerle işlenmiştir. Gruplara veri toplama aracı konu işlendikten sonra son test şeklinde uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler bir analiz programında analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; okul ve cinsiyet değişkenlerine bakıldığında bazı sorularda anlamlı farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of the study is to examine the intelligibility of the concepts related to the subject of biotechnology in the primary school eighth grade curriculum by the students. The sample of this study, in which descriptive analysis was used, consists of 100 eighth grade students studying in two secondary schools in Mamak and Çankaya, one of the districts of Ankara, in the 2018-2019 academic year. Data were collected through a biotechnology information questionnaire prepared by the researcher. After the validity-reliability analysis of the data collection tool used, it was determined that its reliability was at a sufficient level. Chi-square test was used to analyze the obtained data. The sample of the study was formed by the simple random sampling method from the random sampling method in both schools. The subject of biotechnology was covered in the curriculum of both schools with the methods and techniques recommended for the subject. The data collection tool was applied to the groups as a post-test after the subject was covered. The obtained data were analyzed in an analysis program. According to the analysis results; When the school and gender variables were examined, it was determined that there was a significant difference in some questions.
