öz MADDE TEPKİ KURAMININ ( MTK ) BÎR, İKİ VE ÜÇ PARAMETRELİ MODELLERİNİN ÖĞRENCİ SEÇME VE YERLEŞTİRME MERKEZİNİN ( ÖSYM ) ÖĞRENCİ SEÇME SINAVINA ( ÖSS ) UYGUNLUĞU Kılıç, İmran Yüksek Lisans, Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Giray Berberoğlu Aralık 1999, 172 sayfa Bu çalışmanın amacı, MTK'nın bir, iki ve üç parametreli modellerinin, Öğrenci Seçme Sınavına ( ÖSS ) uygunluğunu araştırmaktır. Bu araştırmada, ÖSS'nin Matematik, Fen Bilimleri, Türkçe ve Sosyal Bilimler alt testleri ayrı ayrı ele alınmaktadır. 1993 yılı ÖSS sonuçlan veri olarak kullamlmıştır. Örneklem, Ankara' tun yedi ayrı devlet lisesinden seçilen 2121 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır.İlk aşamada, MTK'nın modellerinin ' sayıltılânnın alt' testier tarafından karşılanıp karşılanmadığı incelenmiştir. Sonra, testi alan farklı gruplardan elde edilen madde parametreleri ve farklı madde takımlarından elde edilen yetenek parametreleri her bir alt test. için karşılaştırılmışlar. Son olarak, gözlenen ve kuramsal dağılım her bir alt testte, khi-kare istatistiği kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Bulgular, bir parametreli modelin eşit madde ayıncılık indeksleri sayıltısmın alt testler tarafından karşılanmadığım göstermektedir. Yalnızca, Türkçe alt testi hız testi olarak görünmemektedir. Türkçe alt testinde farklı madde grupları arasında bir, iki ve üç parametreli modellerin yetenek ölçüleri, Matematik, Fen Bilimleri ve Sosyal Bilimler alt testlerinden elde edilenlerden daha karalıdır. Üç parametreli model Matematik ve Fen Bilimleri alt testlerinin madde ayıncılık parametreleri, iki parametreli modele göre daha az değişmez özelliktedir. Ancak, iki ve üç parametreli modellerin madde ayıncılık parametreleri, Sosyal Bilimler ve Türkçe alt testlerinde, yüksek karanlık sağlamıştır. Khi-kare istatistikleri sonuçlan, üç parametreli modelin ÖSS'ye uyumunun daha iyi olduğunu göstermektedir.

ABSTRACT THE FIT OF ONE, TWO, AND THREE PARAMETER MODELS OF ITEM RESPONSE THEORY ( IRT ) TO THE STUDENT SELECTION TEST ( SST ) OF THE STUDENT SELECTION AND PLACEMENT CENTER ( SSPC ) Kılıç, İmran M.S., Department of Educational Sciences Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Giray Berberoğlu December 1999, 172 pages The purpose of this present study is to investigate the fit of the one, two and three parameter models of IRT to the Student Selection Test ( SST ). The Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Turkish and Social Sciences subtests of SST are taken separately. The results of 1993 SST were used as the data. The sample included 2121 examinees who were selected from seven different state high schools in Ankara. iiiFirstly, whether the assumptions of the IRT models were met, was examined. Then, item parameter estimates across different samples of examinees and ability parameters estimates across different sets of items were compared for each subtest. Lastly, the observed and theoretical distribution on each subtest were reviewed by using chi square statistics. The findings indicated that homogenous item discrimination indices assumption of the one parameter model was not met by the subtests. Only, the Turkish subtest did not appear to be a speeded test. The one, two and three parameter models ability estimates were more invariant across different sets of items in the Turkish subtest than Mathematics, Natural and Social Sciences subtests. The three parameter model item discrimination parameter estimates of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences subtests were less invariant across different samples of examinees than two parameter model. However, the two and three parameter models item discrimination parameter estimates maintained high invariance across different samples of examinees in the Turkish and Social Sciences subtests. Chi square statistics results indicated that the fit of the three parameter model to the SST was better.
