The philosophy of The Intelligent Choir was put forward by Professor Jim Daus Hjernøe, a faculty member of the Royal Danish Academy of Music. This philosophy, was developed in order to ensure that responsibilities and the creative process are shared between the choir conductor and the chorists. Vocal Painting is a choral study method developed in 2016, which is included in the idea of TIC (The Intelligent Choir). This method is also supported by body percussion and is aimed at creating choral improvised music. VOPA (Vocal Painting) provides the opportunity for conductors, chorists and soloists to improvise music during the performance, create new arrangements. At the same time, this method is a sign language, which officially consists of seventy-five signs. During the performance, the leader directs the choir members using these signs. According to Kalyoncu, pedagogical approaches are based on the human ideal that has reached its peak in the mental, spiritual and social context that constitutes the main purpose of education, or from a worldview exclusive to oneself; from a holistic understanding of education, basic values, beliefs, culture, and sometimes they can have a fictional quality. (Kalyoncu, 2021, p. 4-5.) However, even if teaching approaches are created based on a basic idea, rather than representing a worldview, a thought or belief woven with values, they help to make the teacher more competent to alternative design of learning-teaching experiences, providing course content in a more effective way, increasing student achievement, getting more efficiency in the course, etc. it is a thought directed towards the teaching- learning process in new courses. In pedagogical approaches, a philosophical view, perceptions and images about a person orientation to raising and developing a person, certain understandings about the structure, nature or use of material or space, views on the way the learner relates to nature and the cultural environment, etc. ; they play a role in the design of the entire educational teaching process and its configuration with unique content, methods, and materials. Pedagogical approaches are based on philosophy at an abstract level, while learning and teaching approaches are positioned on the side of the ways of transferring knowledge in the most concrete way. TIC thinking redefines the concepts of choir, chorister, soloist and listener by transforming traditional choral methods. Prof. Hjernøe has revealed a new idea by transforming the rhythmic choral structure. This understanding is shaped from the framework that everyone in the choir has equal rights and that their musical responsibility should be distributed in this context. The essence and purpose of the whole approach is to ensure that the band members are able to evaluate the musical process themselves and actively participate in it. This includes not only theoretical training in the form of more or less fun exercises, but also expanding the personal“comfort zone”to allow all members to step into the unknown and take on their own responsibilities while singing. It is expected that the singer will constantly improve herself in the musical context and carry her creativity further. The main goals of TIC, which has three main pedagogical areas: musical skills, VOPA and Kucheza. And most importantly, the responsibility of the musical process is assumed by the entire choir. According to this idea, not only the choir conductor has the right to have a say in the music performed in the choral work, but also the choristers. Considering the content, scope and goals of TIC philosophy, this idea; it can be seen that there is a unique philosophy, an understanding that aims at the development of the individual in the musical infrastructure, spiritual and social context; developed with the idea of intra-choral dynamism, ideal music, ideal choir and ideal singer. Vocal Painting is a language, a framed technique that systematizes improvisation, music learning, performing music together, which is included in the idea of TIC. TIC is more abstract, more idealized, while VOPA is more concrete, more real; its outputs can be seen more quickly. At this point, it aims to develop the individual from different perspectives, to be an original opinion, to feed on values, the individual not only receives information, but aims to create changes in the world of mind. So TIC philosophy, as a pedagogical approach of VOPA, is a teaching method designed to draw a more concrete path to teaching for the vocal leader, to acquire new information, experiences and skills for the individual. It's more than changing the point of view. A person is born into a language, then creates his life by shaping the world of mind according to the languages he was born with. In addition, the thoughts we adopt enable change in the process. There are various opinions that the language used by an individual is a guide in perceiving the world, making sense of life and shaping it. In this context; creating a musical performance with VOPA sign language; can change the structure of mind and communication and give a new perspective. This new point of view can also affect the creativity in musical performance. Individuals and choirs who have adopted the philosophy of TIC and the VOPA method as their motto can change and develop in terms of communication, creativity, interaction, dynamism, musical infrastructure. The VOPA language can affect the communication and creativity of the choir. In this research, the definitions, types and meanings of choir in the literature were introduced. The effects of TIC and VOPA were discussed over two cases; the choirs of Chromas and Pop Caz.
